A Landmark Dining Experience for More Than 30 Years

The Duck ExteriorThe 1800’s era barn attached to the prominent Greek revival style home on Main Street has housed one of Sturbridge’s favorite restaurants for more than 30 years. Known to locals as The Ugly Duckling Loft or, for short, “The Duck.” Table 3 Restaurant Group purchased the property in 2010 and has been listening to what customers really like about the restaurant and making improvements while honing its reputation as a great place to dine and be entertained in central Massachusetts.

In 2017, Table 3 completed an interior revitalization of the Duck, renewing this iconic loft restaurant so that customers could relax in an atmosphere that pays tribute to the original barn, yet looks forward to the next 30 years. In a tribute to the building’s history, the property that houses The Duck and its sister restaurant, Avellino, has been named “The Whistling Swan,” after the first fine dining restaurant to occupy the building.

As time moves on, Table 3 is committed to keeping the many traditions of The Duck intact—and also adding a few of their own. They intend to keep the promise long offered by The Duck, a relaxed and casual dining experience, a great quality meal, and entertainment for locals, tourists, and the occasional visiting celebrity.
